13th Annual Garden Tour & Tea |
South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block will be hosting their 13th annual Garden Tour and Tea on June 22, 2013, from 10 am to 3 pm with proceeds helping bring free educational programming to local schools. This is a daylong event that includes tours of local Bowling Green gardens, leading up to a lunch and tea. The day will start with visitations to the garden sites from 10 am to 2 pm followed by a lunch at the tea site from 1 pm to 3 pm. Events include the display of Vintage Motor Cars and a fashion show. There will also be drawings and door prizes given away at the tea site.

This musical is based on a popular 1998 film by the same title. It’s about two fraudsters living on the French Riviera. Lawrence is a cultivated and suave gentleman who cons rich ladies out of their money. Freddy is a small-time American thief who cons women into giving him money by telling made-up stories about his sick grandmother. They soon find out that the small French town they live in isn’t big enough to support two scammers. The battle between them then starts, with many twists and laughs along the way.

Olde Stone Run for the Exits 5K |
The Olde Stone “Run for the Exits” 5K Walk and 5K Run will be held at The Club at Olde Stone at 7 p.m. with a reception following from 7:30-9 p.m. This is a 7 p.m. 5K run. There will be a reception immediately following the race on Olde Stone’s Terrace, overlooking the pool from 7:30-9 p.m. Each runner 21 and over will receive tickets for two free drinks. There will be light food provided and nonalcoholic beverages as well. The run benefits Operation PRIDE and all of the proceeds will go toward beautification projects on Exits 22 and 28.

Boone County Rural Treasures Farm Tour |
The Boone County Farm Initiative is hosting the second Rural Treasures Farm Tour on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. This self-guided tour of over a dozen county working and historic farms will offer visitors a chance to learn more about agriculture in Boone County. Tour stops include the Historic Dinsmore Homestead, Kinman Farms, Broken M Farm, Eagle Bend Alpacas, Jane’s Saddlebag, Verona Vineyards, Wheelrim Alpacas, Thistlehair Farm, Potter’s Ranch, Benton Farms, Scott Farms, Barkers Blackberry Hill Winery, and the Boone County Farmer’s Market.
Organizers envision the tour as a way to promote the diversity and value of Boone County’s agriculture. An outcome of the recently completed farm study, Rural Treasures, the tour is one way to show the economic, environmental and cultural values of agriculture to Boone County. It also provides a fun way for people to learn about the county’s diverse agricultural operations and how their food and fiber is produced.
