6/22/2013 13th Annual Garden Tour & Tea South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block will be hosting their 13th annual Garden Tour and Tea on June 22, 2013, from 10 am to 3 pm with proceeds helping bring free educational programming to local schools. This is a daylong event that includes tours of local Bowling Green gardens, leading up to a lunch and tea. The day will start with visitations to the garden sites from 10 am to 2 pm followed by a lunch at the tea site from 1 pm to 3 pm. Events include the display of Vintage Motor Cars and a fashion show. 6/29/2013 Boone County Rural Treasures Farm Tour The Boone County Farm Initiative is hosting the second Rural Treasures Farm Tour on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. This self-guided tour of over a dozen county working and historic farms will offer visitors a chance to learn more about agriculture in Boone County. Tour stops include the Historic Dinsmore Homestead, Kinman Farms, Broken M Farm, Eagle Bend Alpacas, Jane’s Saddlebag, Verona Vineyards, Wheelrim Alpacas, Thistlehair Farm, Potter’s Ranch, Benton Farms, Scott Farms, Barkers Blackberry Hill Winery, and the Boone County Farmer’s Market. Organizers envision the tour as a way to promote the diversity and value of Boone County’s agriculture. An outcome of the recently completed farm study, Rural Treasures, the tour is one way to show the economic, environmental and cultural values of agriculture to Boone County.
