Enter your best photos for a chance to win money and bragging rights by being published in Kentucky Living magazine. Follow the rules on this page. A panel of photographers will judge the photos for visual appeal, human interest, and artistic merit. Winning photos will be published in the July 2012 issue of Kentucky Living.

Deadline: Must be received no later than midnight March 15, 2012

Winning photos will appear in Kentucky Living magazine. We will choose a total of 28 winners in 9 categories (see form below for categories):

• One overall best photo will receive $200
• First place in each category will receive $100
• Second and third places in each category will receive $50 each

We may also choose photos from the winners or other photos to appear in a tentative 2013 Kentucky Living calendar, which includes bragging rights and a free calendar.

Rules

Entries must be the original work of the photographer making the submission. Only amateur photographers may enter, with the exception of one new category that is specifically for Professional Photographers (i.e., if you are a freelancer or studio being paid to take photos).

Digital submissions:
Photos should be taken at the highest resolution possible in order to reproduce in print. File upload size may not be less than 1 MB (1,000 kb) file size, preferably larger, up to 5 MB (5,000 kb). File sizes under 1MB or over 5 MB will be rejected when you upload online.

Option 1: Submit a photo online
Fill out the online entry form below. Complete a separate form for each photo submitted. Photos must be in .jpg format. Internet submissions must be received no later than midnight March 15, 2012.

Option 2: Submit a photo through U.S. mail. Photos will not be returned.
Submit digital photos burned onto a single CD, making sure they are readable by both Macintosh and Windows, and include an unmounted print of each photo, at least 4" x 6", and attach the form to the back of the photo. Or submit a hardcopy print of the photo, at least 4" x 6", with the form attached to the back of the photo. Multiple entries are permitted in the same package but each photo must be placed in its own envelope with its form attached to the back of each photo for judging purposes.

Employees of Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives, Kentucky Living, or Kentucky's electric cooperatives are not eligible.
