Speedway Stats

The
Kentucky Speedway racetrack near Sparta in northern Kentucky is still making its
mark on the state, setting milestones and continuing improvements. Here are a
few highlights.

More than 70,000 fans came to see the race
on June 16.

The state-of-the-art lighting and electrical
system, which Owen Electric Cooperative helped design, continues to provide
reliable and efficient power. Several Owen Electric employees are on standby
during each race to make sure the power stays on.

More than $1 million was spent on gravel and
asphalt to improve the parking lots since last summer.

The Speedway was given part of the credit for boosting
tourism spending in northern Kentucky by $100 million last year-the largest increase
in the state.
