Simple suppers, big flavors

Weeknight-friendly recipes that feel extra special
SEPTEMBER ALWAYS FEELS like a season in transition. The long days of summer are beginning to fade, but I’m not quite ready for the comfort foods of fall. These apple cider-glazed pork chops are the perfect recipe for this month. They’re easy enough for a busy weeknight, but also perfect to serve when friends or family gather around your table. Pair them with flavorful Cuban black beans and your favorite vegetable side dish for a meal that feels both comforting and special.
Born and raised in Cuba, Mayra grew up enjoying black beans as a staple at the family table. After immigrating to Tampa in 1954, she carried the tradition with her, continuing to make this flavor-packed recipe that she says puts canned black beans to shame.
