The Board of Directors of the World Affairs Council would like to invite our members and the public to join us in celebrating our 35th anniversary at a unique and intimate concert featuring international folk-rock icon Shawn Phillips at the Muhammad Ali Center.

The World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana is a nonpartisan, non-profit, member-based organization and regional network affiliate of Global Ties U.S. and the World Affairs Councils of America. Founded on the University of Louisville’s campus in 1984 as the Louisville International Cultural Center, WAC has brought countless international visitors to our region via the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Congress, as well as numerous speaker series to Louisville addressing a wide range of topics – including Mikhail Gorbachev, Christiane Amanpour, Colin Powell, John Sculley, etc.

Ticket sales and donations from this concert will benefit the World Affairs Council, and will be put toward augmenting our recently-awarded Kentucky Colonels grant, intended for the purchase of a 15 passenger van that will provide transportation for our international visitor programs.
