Kentucky’s Civil War Medal of Honor Recipients

On May 28, at 2 pm. Interpretive Park Manager Bryan Bush will give a lecture on Kentucky’s Civil War Medal of Honor Recipients. Learn about Perryville’s two Medal of Honor recipients Private John Durham and Private William Surles. Also covered in the lecture is Sergeant Andrew Jackson Smith, who was an African American in the 55th Massachusetts USCI and Dr. Mary Walker, who was the first female to receive the Medal of Honor. After the lecture, he will unveil the newest exhibit which will run until November 2022.
