As we went to press with Kentucky Living’s annual April Travel Issue, the COVID-19 health emergency was breaking. We realize there will be many changes to tourism events and other activities over the coming weeks. Please be sure to verify all events and activities on company websites and/or on social media before you go. We will make sure all events on KentuckyLiving.com are updated as we are notified or become aware of cancellations.
While observing recommended health guidelines, we encourage you to continue to support our travel partners and other advertisers, along with your local businesses. During and when this health crisis is over, they will need our help due to the economic hardship.

“Meadows in the Bloom” At My Old Kentucky Home
This spring our special Victorian Easter tour, “Meadows in the Bloom” will showcase all of the fun and unusual Easter customs of the 19th century! See the historic mansion “My Old Kentucky Home” decorated for the Easter holiday! On display in the mansion’s parlor is our Easter tree with decorated eggs! See what are considered today to be highly odd, even weird, Easter greeting cards, and see a nearly 200-year-old Easter cross made of wax flowers and hand detailed greenery made by one of the original owners of My Old Kentucky Home. The mansion’s dining room will be decorated for an Easter dinner, with fine china, silver, flowers, and beautiful streamers in Easter colors. Tours are available every hour beginning at 9 a.m. (Last Tour begins at 4 p.m.).
UPDATE FROM THE ORGANIZER: Most Kentucky State Parks remain open during the current situation. Our “Meadows in the Bloom” tour is given Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00am-4:00pm. Tours are limited to 9 persons, in order to allow proper social distancing, and the price is reduced to $5 for adults age 13 and up. Children 12 and under are free.
