National Trails Day in the Laurel Gorge
Sandy Hook, KY 41171 United States

Join CAMILAdventures for a 2.5 mile hike through the Laurel Gorge in observance of National Trails Day. The main trail system consists of three parts: Main Trail (easy access with a few intermittent wooden walkways), Creekside Trail (follows Laurel Creek for half a mile), and Cliff-Line Trail (a steeper climb along a high cliff wall that leads back to a 100-foot waterfall overlook. There is also a half=mile of the Primitive Trail that is well maintained and easily accessible. Dense foliage, creeks, rock formations, waterfalls, and rock shelters are all part of the nature you’ll enjoy along this trail system. Although it’s past the main blooming season for spring wildflowers, your guide will be able to tell you about the wildflowers and their locations in the Laurel Gorge.
