Savanna, Grassland, and Birds of Kentucky Hike
Meet at the Picnic Pavilions behind the Nature Center where naturalist Jacob Crider will lead a hike exploring the back and front meadows. He will talk about Kentucky’s grasslands, glades, savannas, open forests, and the bird species that live and nest in these habitats. Hikers will be searching for sparrows, finches, bluebirds, hawks, falcons, and woodpeckers. Wear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground. Easy to moderate hike. Masks are optional. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, cameras or smartphone, and plenty of curiosity!
