SUMMARY:Madisonville 9/11 Heroes Run
DESCRIPTION:Mark Your Calendars!\nJoin us for Madisonville’s 14th Annual 9/11 Heroes Run on Saturday\, September 12th in Downtown Madisonville.\nTwenty-five years. And yet\, if you close your eyes\, you can still remember exactly where you were. September 11th didn’t just change our country – it revealed who we are. It showed us what courage looks like when everything is on the line\, and it reminded us that some people run toward danger while the rest of us are still trying to make sense of it.\nThis run is for them. For the nearly 3\,000 lives lost that morning. For the first responders who didn’t hesitate. For the men and women who raised their hand to serve in the years that followed – including Madisonville’s hero\, SGT William Patrick Rudd\, who gave everything on his 8th tour of duty in 2008. And for the heroes who put on a uniform in this community every single day.\nWhether you run\, ruck\, or walk\, come be part of something that matters. Since 2013\, Madisonville has raised nearly $90\,000 for local first responders through the Patrick Rudd Project and another $90\,000 for the Travis Manion Foundation. That didn’t happen because of one person — it happened because this community keeps showing up.\nWe hope you’ll show up again this year.\nDate: Saturday\, September 12th | Location: Downtown Madisonville | Time: 8 PM |\nRegistration: 911heroesrun.org/madisonville\n“If Not Me\, Then Who…” — 1st Lt. Travis Manion\, USMC\nREGISTER HERE: 911heroesrun.org/madisonville

SUMMARY:Frazier250: What was the Last Native American Village in Kentucky?
DESCRIPTION:What was the last Native American village in Kentucky? Where was it\, who lived there\, and how did they live? Join the Frazier’s Simon Meiners in a conversation with archaeologist Dr. A. Gwynn Henderson about the last Native American settlement in what is now Kentucky. As the Frazier marks 250 years since 1776—the year America declared its independence—we shine a light on the Native American presence in Kentucky leading up to that time. The late 18th century saw not only the arrival of Euroamerican settlers like Thomas Walker\, James Harrod\, and Daniel Boone in Kentucky—it also saw the abandonment of Kentucky’s last remaining Native American villages as distinct communities. \nDr. Henderson is the Education Director at the Kentucky Archaeological Survey. She has carried out field research in Kentucky\, the Ohio Valley\, Tennessee\, and Mexico\, and she is particularly interested in researching the lifeways of the ancient Native farming cultures of the middle Ohio Valley and the history of mid-18th century Indigenous groups in the same region. She will explore what the material evidence suggests about Lower Shawnee Town (Greenup County) and more. \nABOUT THE PROGRAM \nFrazier250: What was the Last Native American Village in Kentucky?\nSunday\, October 18\, 2026\n1–2 p.m.\nFrazier Kentucky History Museum \nAdmission: Free with cost of museum admission (free for members) (must RSVP)
