DESCRIPTION:The Cumberland Arts Collective along with leading sponsor\, London Tourism\, will host the Gallery in the Garden at Oak Hill Gardens in London\, KY on July 10 from 5:00pm – 10:00 pm. Come celebrate art\, community\, and the summer by experiencing a spectacular evening of artistic demonstration from local creators with a passion to entertain\, educate and engage the community. \nAt this free to attend event\, prepare to tour the garden to find curated artists exhibiting their skill and craft while being surrounded by beautiful flowers and foliage under the summer stars. Gallery in the Garden will have food and drinks available and a marketplace tent where artists will have items for purchase. This will be an opportunity to support\, enjoy art\, and connect with artists in our region. \nEach artist and other local businesses have donated items to be auctioned during the evening to support two local organizations: Cumberland Valley Domestic Violence Center and Parkinson’s In Motion. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we open our newest exhibit\, Revolutionary Threads. Meet the artists who created the clothing\, as we learn about their ancestors\, both men and women\, who fought in the American Revolution. On display are representations of uniforms\, clothing\, and items worn and used by the Patriot soldier ancestors and family members of the Transylvania Chapter NSDAR\, Lexington\, Kentucky. We’ll also hear from two modern day soldiers\, Rob Givens and Amy McGrath\, who are both featured in our I Too Am a Kentuckian exhibition. They’ll talk about their military service and their Kentucky roots. Madisonville Illuminated Hot Air Balloon Glow will be held on Friday\, August 28th from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Mahr Park Arboretum\, located at 465 Mahr Park Drive.\, Madisonville\, KY 42431. \nThis free admission\, family-friendly event transforms the arboretum into a magical evening destination featuring glowing hot air balloons\, live music\, delicious food\, family activities\, local vendors\, and unforgettable experiences for visitors of all ages. DESCRIPTION:Court Day Event. Originating in 1794. It began when the Kentucky General Assembly mandated that each county hold court once a month. This day quickly evolved into an annual trading event where people gathered to buy\, sell\, and trade goods\, marking the end of the trading season for many families in eastern Kentucky. \nPreston Court Days brings together all types of people with all types of stuff to sell/swap/trade and barter. A week long festival in October\, this year from October 12th – 18th.
