SUMMARY:Showman and Coole
DESCRIPTION:Join us May 27th\, 2026 for Showman and Coole at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum! \nThrough twenty-five years and thousands of shows together in bands such as The Foggy Hogtown Boys and The Lonesome Ace Stringband\, John Showman and Chris Coole have developed a deep and instinctual musical bond. Their music lurks in a truly unique space that is somewhere on the outskirts of old-time\, bluegrass\, and folk. The songs of John Hartford\, Hank Williams\, Dock Boggs\, and The Band share space with the fiddle tunes of Eck Robertson and Ed Haley. The duo’s original songs and tunes take in all these vistas and paint something both personal and timely. \nThey have performed across North America and Europe at festivals such as Merlefest\, Rockygrass\, Winnipeg Folk Festival\, Mariposa\, Wintergrass\, Gooikroots\, and the John Hartford Memorial Festival. In 2022\, the duo released two albums; Afield a collection of old-time fiddle tunes\, and Much Further Out than Inevitable – A Tribute to Some Music of John Hartford. They are currently writing and releasing a steady stream of new and original singles and videos and have compiled this new music for a January 2026 release on CD and vinyl titled Big Wing.

SUMMARY:How Can I Keep from Singing: The Heart of Kentucky\, A Musical Tribute
DESCRIPTION:The Lexington Chamber Chorale celebrates Kentucky’s rich musical tradition at a free concert at Ashland\, the Henry Clay Estate\, in Lexington on Sunday\, June 7. \nThe final concert of the Lexington Chamber Chorale’s season will include songs of Appalachia\, Shaker tunes\, Shape Note Hymns\, songs that provide a welcome to summer and “My Old Kentucky Home.” In addition\, a preview of the 2026-2027 season repertoire will be performed. \nThis will be the final concert for Dr. Gary Anderson\, the Lexington Chamber Chorale’s founding conductor and founding director. Anderson\, a professor emeritus of music at Transylvania University\, has faithfully led the chorale since its inception 35 years ago. \n“This performance is bittersweet for me\,” said Artistic Director Gary Anderson. “Our signature song ‘I Have Had Singing\,’ by Ron Jeffers speaks to not just the wonder of singing\, but to all that the Lexington Chamber Chorale has meant to me over these 35 years. ‘I have had pleasure enough. I have had singing.’” \nThe Lexington Chamber Chorale’s new artistic director will be introduced and will conduct the chorale for one piece.

DESCRIPTION:Join Marty Brown with Christian Brown LIVE at The Plaza Theatre! \nPresented by Kiwanis of Glasgow \nExperience an unforgettable night of authentic country music with Marty Brown and his son\, Christian Brown! \nKentucky Music Hall of Fame inductee Marty Brown is a true original\, a small-town Kentucky singer-songwriter who once slept in the alleys of Nashville before being discovered in 1991. Known for his rich\, down-home sound\, Brown has drawn comparisons to legends like Hank Williams Sr. and Jimmie Rodgers. In an era where country music often leans toward pop and rock influences\, Marty has remained deeply rooted in tradition\, bringing his heartfelt songs to audiences across the South and Midwest. \nAs praised by critics\, Marty Brown is “the real thing\,” a powerful voice that feels like it’s coming straight from a front porch at the end of a long dirt road. \nNow\, the next generation takes the stage. \nAt just 23\, Christian Brown is carving out his own path while honoring his family’s musical legacy. Fans may recognize him from his appearance on American Idol\, where he impressed judges including Luke Bryan\, Lionel Richie\, and Carrie Underwood. A multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar\, piano\, banjo\, and more\, Christian’s journey is just beginning\, and this is your chance to see him live. \nDon’t miss this special father-and-son performance celebrating real country music\, storytelling\, and heritage. \nAll ticket proceeds benefit Kiwanis of Glasgow\, KY.

SUMMARY:All Your Friends
DESCRIPTION:An indie dance party for the ones who still romanticize a scratched iPod\, American Spirits\, and a blurry night soundtracked by bloghouse and post-punk revival. All Your Friends is at Headliners on 27 June 2026\, bringing the sweat\, synths\, and nostalgia of the early 2010’s house party. \nThis is your basement-floor flashback to tight jeans\, smudged eyeliner\, and nights that felt like a house show turned afterparty. Expect a high-energy dance floor fueled by indie sleaze classics and remixes you forgot you loved\, from LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture to Foals\, Yeah Yeah Yeahs\, TV on the Radio\, MGMT\, Crystal Castles\, and more. No frills\, just bodies in motion. \nWhether you never left the Lower East Side or just miss the chaos of that era\, All Your Friends is a night dedicated to bad decisions\, blown speakers\, and the soundtrack of your favorite forgotten memories. Come ready for the sweat\, the noise\, and the party your Tumblr warned you about at Headliners.
