SUMMARY:Kentucky State Police "Running Signal 9" 5k
DESCRIPTION:KSP Post 15 presents the 3rd Annual “Running Signal 9” 5K run/walk event on the evening of August 1st at Green River Lake State Park. \nThis chip-timed event will take place on a paved course within view of the lake for the entire event complete with lights\, music\, and a DJ. There’s also a short run just for kids to participate in and a virtual option for the 5K. A donation option is available as well if you are unable to participate but would still like to support the program. \nAll proceeds will benefit Post 15’s Shop with a Trooper program\, which impacts underprivileged children. Spectators are also welcome to join in on the fun. DESCRIPTION:The ‘Festivus for the Rest of Us!’ A community event on the banks of The Mighty Cumberland River! \nFamily Fun Run\n12:00pm – 4:00pm \nThis wild\, wacky\, and wonderful race through the heart of rural Cumberland County is where back roads become battlegrounds\, and FUN runs as deep as the river! This isn’t your average stroll through the countryside – it’s a full-throttle\, family-friendly test of grit packed with muddy missions\, puzzling pit stops\, and just enough small-town chaos to keep everyone on their toes! \nLast year’s participants all wanted one thing – MORE! We always aim to please (and secretly we love watching y’all get put through the wringer) so 2026’s Fun Run will be bigger and more challenging than ever! \nIMPORTANT: To make time for all this extra adventure\, the Fun Run will be held on Saturday\, August 08\, 2026 – ONE WEEK PRIOR to River Festivus!! \nThink you have what it takes to become the next Fun Run Champ? Here’s what you need to know:\nTeams of two will compete in a trek across the county using clues to designated ‘road block’ locations. At each destination\, the teams must complete their choice of tasks\, and collect a passport to move on to the next location. Some tasks are physical\, some are mental\, but all are inclusive to a wide range of capabilities. When teams have collected their final passport ticket\, they’ll dash back to River Festivus headquarters to compete in one Final Challenge. The first three teams to accomplish this mission will win some AMAZING prizes and be announced on stage at our Battle of the Bands! \n1st Place Prize: FREE 3-Night stay in a private cabin at Sulphur Creek Resort\, FREE pontoon rental from Sulphur Creek Marina\, AND $500 CASH \n2nd Place Prize: $300 CASH \n3rd Place Prize: $150 CASH \n$20 registration fee per team. Each participant will receive an EXCLUSIVE River Festivus Fun Run t-shirt as part of the registration! \n** All teams MUST sign a waiver. At least one person on each team MUST have proof of a driver’s license and valid automobile insurance. River Festivus does not condone unsafe driving practices. SUMMARY:Light the Night 5K: Grayson County
DESCRIPTION:CASA of the Heartland will host race THREE of the Light the Night 5K: Superhero Walk/Run Series on Friday\, August 21\, 2026\, at James D. Beville City Park in Leitchfield. Our goal is to raise awareness for the most vulnerable children in our community—and use this night to pay tribute to our local heroes who protect and serve. This event is a celebration of those hometown heroes\, and a chance for all of us to show up for kids who need someone in their corner. \nWorking together across all three events\, we’re aiming to provide every child victim in Hardin\, Breckinridge\, Grayson\, LaRue\, Hart and Meade counties with a CASA volunteer advocate—and hope for a better future.
