THE HARBOR RESTAURANT “has the most varied clientele I’ve ever seen,” says T.W. Whitson, kitchen manager. “You see people in overalls, bikinis or a three-piece suit.”

Owner J.D. Hamilton fell in love with Lake Cumberland while visiting, purchasing Lee’s Ford Resort Marina in 2003. 

“The grouper is one of a kind,” says Whitson. Other favorites, he says, include “fried banana peppers, lobster and crab ravioli, and the captain’s platter with grouper, crabcake and shrimp skewer with a side.” Boom boom shrimp and nachos are also popular; steaks, salads, pastas and daily specials round out the diverse menu.

Josh Smith, who was born and raised nearby, has worked there 11 years, first as a server and now as the service manager. He says, “It’s just people having a good time. The Harbor is a place where you come and just want to stay.” Whitson adds, “Whether by boat or car, once you’re on the property, we take really good care of you.”

The Harbor has two outside decks, three dining rooms and two bars with live music on Monday nights and major holidays.

The Harbor, 451 Lee’s Ford Dock Road, Nancy, served by South Kentucky RECC, is open seven days a week beginning at 11 a.m.; reservations accepted Monday–Thursday.
