Kentucky Alumni advance to TBT title game with 78-65 win

La Familia (Kentucky Alumni) defeated JHX Hoops (Kansas Alumni) 78-65 on Wednesday night at Historic Memorial Coliseum to win the TBT Alumni Championship and advance to Sunday’s $2 million TBT Championship Game. Archie Goodwin led Kentucky with 28 points as La Familia pulled away in the second half, using a dominant third quarter and strong defense to build a comfortable lead. Kentucky held Kansas to 30 percent shooting and just 5-of-29 from three-point range. Willie Cauley-Stein and Darryl Morsell added 10 points apiece, while Chris Coffey contributed nine points and eight rebounds off the bench. Billy Preston paced JHX Hoops with 15 points and nine rebounds. With the win, La Familia will host the winner of the Las Vegas Open Bracket Championship on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on FOX, with the tournament’s $2 million winner-take-all prize on the line.
