Shelbyville Horse Show returns

The Shelbyville Horse Show is back after a two-year hiatus. With the return of the show are four fun-filled nights – August 3-6 – to eat, drink, and watch the best of Saddlebred horses compete in the American Saddlebred Capital of the World.

With the support of city and county leaders, Shelby County non-profit HorseSensing, which is an Equine Therapeutic and job training program in Shelbyville, has organized the Horseman’s Club Charity Gala. Doors open at 5:30 PM each night, and dinner is served from 6-9 PM with a cash bar available until 10 PM. On Friday, the band and bar move to nearby Floral Hall to continue the festivities indoors at 9 PM.

The Horseman’s Club Charity Gala, which raises funds for HorseSensing, has themed nights planned, including:

  • Wednesday, August 3: Kentucky Community Leaders Night. Meet local, state, and national leaders shaping our community while enjoying dinner and opening night of the horse show.
  • Thursday, August 4: Thurby – Shelbyville Style. Think lots of color, fascinators, and lapel flowers.
  • Friday, August 5: Armed Forces Appreciation Night. Former Miss America and current Commissioner of the Ky. Department of Veterans Affairs, Heather French Henry, will speak, as will Shelby County veterans.
  • Saturday, August 6: Grand Finale. Celebrate another successful Shelbyville Horse Show on Saturday’s Grand Finale night.

General admission to the Shelbyville Horse Show is $5 per night and can be purchased at the gate. Tickets for the Horseman’s Club Charity Gala are $75 and can be purchased at here.  All proceeds from this gala go to the nonprofit 501c3, HorseSensing, and their free therapy programs for veterans recovering from PTSD and people in recovery from addiction.
