Veteran’s Club founder named 2018 Male Kentucky Veteran of the Year

Jeremy Harrell of Shelbyville was recently announced as the 2018 Male Kentucky Veteran of the Year by the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana. Harrell is founder of Veteran’s Club, which is among the organizations featured in “Nature Nurtures,” from the November edition of Kentucky Living.

Megan S. Karr of Team RWB Louisville is the 2018 Female Kentucky Veteran of the Year.

According to its Facebook page, Veteran’s Club was founded to connect “veterans who want to join together to share resources, rebuild camaraderie with one another and provide cost-free equine therapy to vets.”

Harrell partners with Lone Pear Ridge Farm in Waddy, owned by Jim and Diana Burke, to provide equine therapy to veterans.

This year’s awards dinner is Monday, November 5, at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center in Louisville from 6-8:30 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased at www.awardvets.givesmart.com.
