As the longtime host and segment producer of KET’s television series, “Kentucky Life,” Dave Shuffett has spent more than two decades traveling the highways and trails of Kentucky in search of the people and places that tell the story of Kentucky. Along the way he received nine regional EMMY nominations, a national TELLY award and an international AURORA award.
Dave is also author of the book, “My Kentucky Life,” (Butler Books, Louisville). The book features Dave’s stories and photographs of his adventures across the commonwealth.
In 2015, the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives named Dave a Distinguished Rural Kentuckian. Also in 2015, Dave won the Governor’s Arts Awards in the media category.
As Kentucky Living’s bi-monthly Great Outdoors columnist Dave says, “There’s nothing I’d rather be doing than tracking down outdoor opportunities and adventures across the commonwealth with pen and paper this time instead of TV cameras.”
Dave is a native of Greensburg in Green County and a graduate of Murray State University. Dave has two children, Will and Miranda–and always a canine companion by his side.
