  • 1/2 C butter
  • 3/4 C chopped onion, optional
  • 1/2 C baking mix, like Bisquick
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 C milk
  • 3–4 C cubed cooked chicken or turkey
  • 2 C frozen peas and carrots, or other preferred veggies
  • 1 can 8 Pillsbury Grands! Southern Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits


Preheat oven to 350°. Melt butter over low heat in large saucepan. Add onions and saute until soft. Blend in baking mix, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. 

Remove from heat and stir in milk; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Stir in chicken/turkey and vegetables. Heat thoroughly. 

Pour hot mixture into a 9×13-inch greased baking dish. Top creamed mixture with biscuits. Do not stretch or flatten biscuits. 

Bake for 14–16 minutes, until biscuits are browned. Serve by placing biscuit(s) on a plate, smothered with the creamed mixture. Serves 4–6.
