Texas Style Chili

  • Serves 8-10.
    SERVES

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. ground chuck
  • 1 lb. hot bulk sausage
  • 3 medium onions, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1-1/2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (28 oz.) chopped tomatoes (do not drain)
  • 3 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans, drained

Directions

Combine ground chuck, sausage, onion, and garlic in a Dutch oven. Cook until meat is brown, stirring to crumble meat. Drain. Stir in next 6 ingredients and cover. Simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add kidney beans and simmer an additional 20 minutes.
