Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives #WhoPowersYou contest
Tracie Byers was the 2025 Who Powers You contest winner. Inspired by the story of a newly sober young man who tried to help feed a few of his still-homeless friends, Byers, a Jackson Energy member, received $2,000 for her ongoing efforts to feed and help the homeless in the local area.Photo: Tim Webb Nominate an outstanding person to win
Fleming-Mason Energy, a Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperative, is proud to bring the exciting Who Powers You contest to our area.
You can nominate an unsung hero in our community. Someone who is doing amazing work in Kentucky to better their community will win $2,000 for first place, $1,500 for second and $500 for third place. The prize money is awarded to co-op members who show the power of human connections.
“It’s easy to enter. Just share a brief description of how that person has made a difference in the community,” says Lori Ulrich, marketing and public relations manager. “We know there are so many wonderful people in our area and we want to recognize their dedica-tion to improving our area.”
Simply visit whopowersyouky.com to nominate someone special in your community. The contest is open Oct. 1–31. Winners will be announced in mid-November.
The nominee must be an active mem-ber of a participating cooperative to be eligible. Nominators do not have to be a co-op member. Please see website for complete contest rules.
Past winners have included a cancer survivor fighting for legislation to help him and others fight the disease, a col-lege student with a heart for service, a woman who interviewed veterans and told their stories, a teacher helping bright, underprivileged students get funds for higher education and many others who have dedicated their livesto helping the less fortunate with food, clothing and shelter.
Help us share word of the contest by using the hashtag #WhoPowersYou on social media and let others know you recognize those making a difference. It’s Fleming-Mason Energy’s way of making life better.
