An independent journalist since 1986, Nancy Grant specializes in reporting on all aspects of energy production, distribution, technology, and public policy issues for a variety of print and online publications. She visits power houses and substations, interviews state legislators and members of the U.S. Congress, and goes out in bucket trucks with linemen to get first-hand information right where it happens. Nancy is a member of the Cooperative Communicators Association and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
At the end of the work day, Nancy changes from steel toe work boots to well-worn hiking boots. She’s an avid outdoorswomen and field naturalist with a special interest in birds and insects. In all seasons of the year, she enjoys exploring state parks, national parks, nature preserves, and wildlife refuges. She often leads nature rambles, informal hikes focused on helping other people learn about the lives of the animals and plants along the trails. Nancy also enjoys tent camping and making s’mores over the campfire.
