- 2 cups buttermilk cornmeal
- 3/4 cup self-rising flour
In a large bowl mix meal and flour. Add water, (mixture should be thin like cake batter).
In a cold iron skillet, add enough melted shortening to cover bottom of skillet (about 1/4 cup, depending on size of skillet).
Bake at 450 until golden brown.
