Bluegrass At Big Bone Lick

Come to the farm and enjoy a relaxing and foot-tapping good time at the Bobby Mackey Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, September 22, from 2-10 p.m. at Jane’s Saddlebag at Big Bone Lick in Union.

The lineup includes five bands performing two sets in rotation, including Steve and Mitch, Spanky Moore Bluegrass Gang, Gary Strong and Hardtimes, Bobby Mackey & the Pinehill Pickers, and James King Band.

The festival is a family event with lots of fun things to do. Your admission also includes other activities at Jane’s Saddlebag, such as the petting zoo, restored saddlebag home with original smokehouse, 100-year-old barn, life-size replica of a 1700s flatboat, shopping in the gift shop, or visiting the nearby marina.

Food and drinks are available at the event, but do bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and umbrellas to shade you.

Tickets are $15 at the door, or $10 for Owen Electric Co-op members who present their Owen Touchstone Energy member card or their last Owen Electric bill.

Overnight camping facilities are available next door at Big Bone Landing Marina & Campground.

Jane’s Saddlebag is located in northern Kentucky in Boone County, three miles past Big Bone Lick State Park; travel 1/2 mile past the park entrance, then take a left on Kentucky Route 1925 South.
