Newport’s Historic East Row Garden Walk

For 23 years, curiosity, a passion for gardening and desire for unique ideas have enticed thousands to tour gardens on the East Row Garden Walk. Newport’s East Row Historic District is the second-largest local historic district in Kentucky.

The event, sponsored by the East Row Garden Club, runs Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and features eight urban garden tours while you stroll through a neighborhood with lovely tree-lined streets and well-preserved historic homes.

“What I love about the East Row Garden Walk is that no two gardens are alike. This gives our guests new perspective and inspiration each time they walk into a garden,” says Cathy Rector, chair and event organizer. “East Row offers inviting secret gardens brimming with interesting, creative garden ornaments and plants.”

Musicians, local artisans and plant retailers will also be in the central hospitality area at Park Avenue and Nelson Place.

Tickets are $18, online at www.eastrowgardenclub.org or in person, with pickup in the hospitality area.
