Bourbon Manor’s Caramel-Bourbon Glaze


  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon


Combine 1 cup sugar with ¼ cup water in a heavy saucepan. Stir, then cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, 4 minutes, swirling the pan occasionally. Increase heat to medium high and cook, swirling occasionally, until amber colored, 7 to 8 minutes. Remove and slowly stir in 1/2 cup cream. Don’t scrape the sides of the pan. Stir in ½ teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons bourbon, if desired. Use immediately or chill. Microwave 30 seconds if chilled.
