Grayson RECC provides the light for lamp-making

A flower pot makes a great base for the hand-made lamp.
Each lamp-maker put their own creative spin on the lamp base by painting their own creation.
One of the finished products.
Putting on some final touches.
IT WORKS!

Teaching the youth in Grayson RECC’s service area safe ways to work with electricity, the distribution cooperative either sponsors or conducts several programs throughout the school year.

Recently, Grayson RECC members Nancy and Alan Kuehner taught kids in Mrs. Skaggs’ 6th grade class at Isonville Elementary how to wire a lamp. The Kuehners teach three classes to the students about electric circuits before the kids decorate the flower pot lamps and wire them.

Grayson RECC’s involvement in this project was through the donation of the CFL bulbs that were used to light the lamps.
