8th Annual Sustainability Summit

The Louisville Sustainability Council (LSC) is pleased to announce its 8th Annual Sustainability Summit will be held virtually on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021 from 1 – 4 p.m.
Early bird tickets are available until Oct. 27 at https://www.louisvillesustainabilitycouncil.org/summit
with ticket prices ranging from $10.65 for members, $17.65 for non-members and $80.65 for a special group/classroom rate.

Building on the success of 2020’s Summit, “Crossroads: An Intersectional Series on Climate Justice,” this year’s theme is “Powering the Movement: Building Community to Fight Climate Change” and explores the intersections between climate change, social equity, and community resilience.
This year’s event is generously supported by the Kroger Co., the Office of Advanced Planning and Sustainability, PNC, the Rotary Club of Louisville, LG&E and KU Foundation, and The Louisville Zoo.
Highlights include:
Keynote Speaker Jasmine Crowe of Goodr.
Jasmine launched Goodr in 2017 as a sustainable waste management company that leverages technology to combat hunger and reduce food waste.

Local Panel – Connecting Louisville Communities for Climate Action
Moderated by Emmy award-winning journalist and news anchor Jean West, this panel features Eboni Cochran, West End Air Quality; Mellone Long, Exec. Director, Center for Neighborhoods; and Shauntrice Martin, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth. Our panelists will share insights into effectively organizing community around climate action to create transformative change and discuss the opportunities and barriers to developing and implementing environmental and social justice programs in Louisville.

Regional Panel – Linking Businesses and Communities to Accelerate Impact
In this closing conversation, Katie Hunt-Morr, Managing Director, NationSwell; Scott Koloms, Founder, Canopy KY; and Lisa Zwack, Head of Sustainability, The Kroger Co. will discuss key strategies for organizations to connect with diverse communities and drive positive change for people and planet.
