Kenneth Golliher – “The Wilderness Road”
The Bryan family followed the Wilderness Road to Bryan Station in October 1779. The Kentucky Wilderness Road was a perilous passage carved through dense forest, steep ridges, and unforgiving terrain. Travelers faced constant danger from harsh weather, scarce supplies, and the ever-present threat of Indian and wild animal attacks as they pushed westward into the frontier. Guests will discover how this rugged trail shaped early Kentucky settlement, the resilience it demanded of those who traveled it, and the pivotal role it played in the founding of communities like Bryan Station. Call the park for reservations. Don’t miss this event!
