- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 cups cracked wheat
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup instant non-fat milk
- 4 Tablespoons salt
- 2 to 3 cups chicken or beef broth
In a large bowl mix flours, cornmeal, dry milk and salt.
Add 2 cups of the broth.
Mix well with hands. Dough should be stiff.
Add more broth if necessary.
Preheat oven to 300°.
On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4 inch thick.
With cookie cutter, cut out biscuits.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Brush each lightly with milk and bake for 45 minutes.
Turn off oven and let set overnight.
