Cavehill Bluegrass Festival

CaveHill BLUEGRASS Festival
June 16-18

Grab your chair, cooler, and camping gear and head to Pulaski County just north of Somerset for the Third Annual CaveHill Bluegrass Festival at Science Hill. This great family event takes place outdoors on a picturesque farm where everyone is friendly and down-home. A variety of bluegrass bands will perform on stage, rain or shine, each day from 12 noon to 12 midnight— including such names as Lynn Hall Band, Cumberland Grass, Chimney Rock Boys, The Daltons, Wild Blue Yonder, and many others.

June 16 is Gospel Thursday, with a bluegrass gospel contest from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and the winner will receive a recording contract. Take a break Thursday from 5-6 p.m. for free beans and cornbread, followed by more bluegrass gospel and the winner playing from 6-10 p.m.

In addition to the music, there will be a Blueridge guitar raffle, food concessions, arts and crafts, community booths, and CD and hat vendors.

Tickets are $10 Thursday; $12 Friday; $15 Saturday, or a 3-day pass at the gate for $35. Bring a food donation for God’s Food Pantry and receive $1 off admission at the gate. Kids 10 and under get in free with an adult. Overnight campsites are $5. For more information and list of rules, go online to www.CaveHillBluegrassFestival.com or call (606) 423-2252 for more details.
