Holiday Lights Spectacular At Beech Bend Park

Imagine roasting marshmallows over a warm fire in the crisp Kentucky air while friends and family take a stab at ice skating. Holiday movies are showing in the background on a giant screen and some adventurous souls are riding the award-winning Kentucky Rumbler coaster in the dark.

Now add 109 dazzling light displays, many of them animated and synchronized, live animals in Santa’s barnyard, HoHo golf, festive food and drinks, a Christmas Village, and even a gift shop.

But perhaps most important of all is the special guest from the North Pole, yes, the man in red himself, jolly ol’ Saint Nicholas, who will be available for photos (but only through December 23).

Sounds like a great holiday outing, doesn’t it? Stop dreaming and get to the Holiday Lights Spectacular at Beech Bend Park, now through January 5. Visitors drive through the grounds, passing more than two miles of displays with a million twinkling lights, before parking and taking the North Pole Express hayride over to the amusement park area where the activities await.

Open from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly, admission is $15 per carload, $25 per commercial van, and $100 a bus. Ice skating is $5 for children, $7 for adults, plus an optional skate rental for $3. Family fun rides are $1 to $2 each.

For more information, call (270) 781-7634 or visit online at www.beechbend.com. Holiday packages including tickets and accommodations are also available at Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau online at www.visitbgky.com/holiday or by calling (800) 326-7465 or (270) 782-0800.
