Hummingbird Festival, Renfro Valley, Jenny Wiley Musical And More

Hummingbird Festival
The Hummingbird Festival, celebrating the feats of these tiny winged marvels, will be held August 6-7 at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area in Golden Pond. The event (9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday) will feature programs on ruby-throated hummingbirds, banding demonstrations, and many other activities. All Night Gospel Sing
Make plans to attend the All Night Gospel Sing at Renfro Valley, August 6 at 7 p.m. The event was named one of the Top 10 Festivals and Events by the Southeast Tourism Society. The Legend of Jenny Wiley
Explore The Legend of Jenny Wiley at the Jenny Wiley Theatre in Prestonsburg, July 29-Aug. 13. This musical, based on a true story with score by Scott F. Bradley and lyrics by Peyton Davis, relates the tragedies and the ultimate triumph of Jenny Wiley, an 18th-century pioneer woman whose legacy lives on in eastern Kentucky. This inspiring story sensitively portrays the struggles of both the early pioneers and the Native Americans. Performances begin at 8:15 p.m. at the amphitheater within picturesque Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Ticket prices range from $11-$24. Shelbyville Horse Show
The Shelbyville Horse Show returns to the Shelby County Fairgrounds, August 3-6. This spectacular annual event, founded in 1989, showcases the finest American Saddlebreds and riders. Enjoy unlimited food and drink in the Horseman’s Club for only $50 per evening. Admission is $5 at the gate per night, or $15 for all four nights.
