Eyeing the elk
Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park sponsors fall elk watches September 18-19 and September 25-26. Tours leave the park in Buckhorn, about 25 miles northwest of Hazard, around 5:45 a.m., finishing around 11:30 a.m. Package price of $150 per couple ($110 per single) includes one night’s lodging, dinner, bagged breakfast, and transportation to and from the elk preserve.
