Beat the heat with Bernheim programs in July

Clermont, KY –  Bernheim is offering several programs to take advantage of the cool night air and soft morning light this July. Join Bernheim for any number of hikes, as well as other opportunities to get out in nature.

Although the Visitor Center remains closed, there are restrooms available. Isaac’s Café’s new “Café To Go Window” is open with limited hours. Please check Bernheim.org for updates. Events and programming for all ages in July are listed below:

Bernheim at Night

Bernheim at Night programs provide ample opportunities to marvel at the moon, ponder distant planets, and be awed by the vastness of space. Something new yet ancient appears in the heavens and on earth with each turn of the season.

Laser Guided Star Tour: Explore the Heavens

Join Bernheim on Friday, July 9, from 9:30 – 11:30 p.m. for a Laser Guided Star Tour. Enjoy an evening stroll around Lake Nevin with “Star Captains” Bill Napper and Don Spain. These Volunteer Naturalists will use a laser pointer to help you experience the celestial happenings in the night sky.

Full “Thunder Moon” Hike

Join Bernheim on Friday, July 23, from 9 – 11 p.m. for a Full “Thunder Moon” Hike, which includes a walk around Lake Nevin Loop with plenty of stops to observe the night sky, discuss nocturnal happenings, and consider our cosmic connections.

Groups meet at the Garden Pavilion unless otherwise noted in the event description. Registration and payment are required by 4 p.m. on the day prior to the program. Call (502) 955-8512 to reserve a spot or visit Bernheim.org. Space is limited for events, and pets are not allowed.

All Mid-Week Nature Walks cost $7 for members and $10 for non-members.  Registration and payment are required by 4 p.m. on the day prior to the program. Call (502) 955-8512 to reserve a spot or visit Bernheim.org. Space is limited for events, and pets are not allowed.
