- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 (16oz) can red sour pitted cherries
preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Melt butter in 9×9 oven-safe cup dish.
In mixing bowl, combine ¾ cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk.
Pour over melted butter. Do not stir together.
Combine almond extract with cherries and juice.
Pour over batter. Do not stir together.
Bake until done, about 45 minutes.
Top with ice cream while warm.
