- 7 slices bacon
- 3 medium onions, chopped
- 3 (8 oz) cans Hunt’s tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 lb spaghetti noodles
- Parmesan cheese for topping
In a large pot, fry the bacon. Remove and set aside when finished. Crumble bacon when cooled.
Add chopped onions to reserved drippings and saute for 5–6 minutes on medium heat until soft and translucent.
Add tomato sauce, along with 2 cans of water. Then add butter and spices, as well as the crumbled bacon.
Reduce heat to medium low, cover pot and simmer for 20 minutes until thickened.
In the meantime, cook spaghetti according to package directions.
Once the noodles are finished, serve with spaghetti sauce, and top with Parmesan cheese. Serves 6.
