Sherry Cherry Cobbler in Cast Iron

  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 1 1/4 cp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cp milk
  • 1/2 cp ( 1 stick) butter melted
  • 3 tbls of sherry or Madeira
  • 1 tsp nutmeg


Mix flour, sugar, milk, nutmeg, and baking powder together until blended Heat cherries in a pan and add the sherry In a cast iron skillet melt the stick of butter, once melted add in the flour mixture then the cherry mixture, don’t stir it Heat oven to 400 and bake for approx 30 mins or until golden on top
