“Wow, look at that T-Rex,” kids scream.

Dinosaur World Kentucky, located off I-65 at Cave City in south-central Barren County, is a family-friendly park that offers a magical journey of exploration and wonder as you meet life-sized dinosaur models in an outdoor setting. Dinosaur World is a comfortable and enriching experience for families large or small.

The 18-acre park gives visitors the chance to explore and find where dinosaurs may be hiding. The hour-long Dino Walk leads you past Tyrannosaurus rex, woolly mammoths, and about 150 other prehistoric creatures.

“Our main goal at Dinosaur World is to combine an immersive and fun experience with an educational insight to prehistoric creatures, says General Manager Marlene Svensson. An indoors Prehistoric Museum educates everyone with real and cast prehistoric fossils and wall panels with facts about dinosaurs.

Activities included with admission are the Bone Yard Grab, where kids use tools to excavate a 27-foot skeleton from under the sand. At the Fossil Dig (included with admission), kids spend 15 minutes in a guided activity digging for shark teeth, gastropods, stingray barbs, and more—they get to take home their three favorites. At the Dino Gem Excavation (included with the excavation pass), kids choose a bag or bucket and use a mining sluice to discover treasures such as real minerals, arrowheads, or gems, which they take home. There’s also a Dino-themed playground.

A 5,000 square-foot gift shop offers prehistoric artifacts, toys, games, and geodes to remember your visit. Visitors are encouraged to bring coolers with picnic food and drinks. Dinosaur World Kentucky allows friendly dogs on leash, caters to groups and large parties of all sizes, including birthday party packages.

“We are extremely thankful and honored to be a part of the Cave City community. Dinosaur World Cave City opened in 2003 and is still going strong thanks in part to this outstanding community,” says Svensson.

Dinosaur World Kentucky is open daily 8:30 a.m.-6 pm (Central Time) and general admission prices for kids ages 3-12 is $9.75, adults $12.75.

Svensson says, “Dinosaur World prides itself on having kept the same low admission rates since day one. In addition, parking has always been free.”
