Baked Rotini

Pasta & Noodles

  • 1/2 pkg. (1 lb. pkg) rotini noodles
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 1 (28-oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms, undrained
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, grated


Prepare rotini according to package directions. In skillet, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper. Drain fat. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, mushrooms and seasonings. Simmer 20 minutes on low heat. Combine cooked rotini with sauce. Layer 1/2 mixture in a 3-quart baking dish. Top with 1-1/2 cup cheese. Layer remaining rotini mixture and top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
