Chicken Chowder


  • 1 cup onion, sliced thin
  • l /4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2-1 /2 cups peeled and diced potatoes
  • 1cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 1chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cooked and diced chicken
  • 1 can cream-style corn
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Saute onions in butter or margarine until tender.

Add potatoes, celery, water, and bouillon cubes.

Cover and simmer  until vegetables are tender, about 12 to 15  minutes.

Stir in milk, chicken, corn, and thyme and heat through.

Add salt and pep­per to taste.

Sprinkle with parsley just before serving. Serves 8.
