Fried Green Tomatoes

  • 4-5 depending on size of slices

Ingredients

  • 3 - 4 green tomatoes, sliced
  • Vegetable oil to cover the bottom of the skillet
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon all purpose seasoning mix

Directions

Pour enough oil into a non stick skillet and heat to medium high heat. Have tomatoes sliced into 1/4 inch slices and set aside while mixing the cornmeal and seasoning in a bowl. Coat tomato slices in meal mixture and fry until brown on one side and then turn and brown on opposite side. Remove to a plate that is covered with paper towel to drain. Enjoy. The amounts can be varied on the taste that you are looking for.
