- 3/4 cup dark molasses
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 /2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 /4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 unbaked (9-inch) pie crust
Preheat oven to 375°.
Mix molasses with hot water.
Sift together flour, sugar, and soda.
Cut in butter until it resembles coarse meal.
Pour one-third of liquid mixture into unbaked pie shell and top with one-third of crumb mixture.
Repeat twice, ending with crumb mixture.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
