David Dominé celebrates Old Louisville’s most famous spirits with 14th Victorian Ghost Walk®

David Dominé, founder of Louisville Historic Tours and award-winning author of the 2021 true-crime memoir A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City, is excited to be a part of the 14th Victorian Ghost Walk® on Friday, Oct. 14, Saturday, Oct. 15, and Sunday, Oct. 16. With performances directed by Keith McGill and presented by the South Fourth Street Association, this three-night theatrical event includes twelve tours per night starting at 6 p.m. at the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum. Each tour departs every 15 minutes and lasts for two hours. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit louisvillehistorictours.com/victorian-ghost-walk.

“This special ghost walk brings something new and exciting every year,” said David, “but this October is also the one-year anniversary of the release of my true-crime book, A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City, and I can’t help but feel extra excited and grateful to show off the Victorian architecture and haunted history of Old Louisville through the wonderful, theatrical performances by friends and fans of this neighborhood.”

Part walking tour, part porch play, David Dominé’s Victorian Ghost Walk® celebrates “America’s Most Haunted Neighborhood” by bringing together local acting talent to create a cast of real-life characters and legendary spirits who return from the grave to tell their stories.

Although the actors may be different from previous years, repeat participants will see many familiar faces this year, including Jennie Bowman, the unfortunate young maid brutally attacked by burglars in her employers’ Brook Street mansion; Simon Kracht, the infamous resurrectionist who “procured” just-buried corpses for the city medical college; Lucinda, the grief-stricken lunatic who proclaimed herself “Queen of America” in 1885; and millionaire Alfred Victor DuPont, who died at the hands of his scorned mistress—or at least that’s what they said.

In addition, new spirits will be joining the cast, including the sad wraith of famous St. James Court poet Madison Cawein and the haunt of legendary Black jockey Alonzo “Lonnie” Clayton, the youngest rider to triumph at the Kentucky Derby in 1892.
