- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter (no substitutions)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Sift together 2 cups flour and powdered sugar. Cut in butter until mixture clings together.
Press in baking pan (13 x 9 x2). Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly browned.
Beat together eggs, granulated sugar and lemon juice.
Sift together 1/4 cup flour and baking powder. Stir into egg mixture.
Pour over baked crust.
Bake at 350° for 25 minutes longer.
Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar. Cool.
Cut into bars. Makes 30.
