Double Stink Hog Farm, a 200-acre family-owned farm near Georgetown at the corner of U.S. 460 and KY 922, is not what you might think by its name. For the past 20 years they have been selling “top quality produce” at a reasonable price. From September 1 to October 31, the farm is transformed into a giant pumpkin playground with thousands of pumpkins and visitors to match, especially during Pumpkinfest held each weekend beginning September 25. Fall hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–6p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., and Sunday 12 noon–6 p.m. Visiting the farm is free. There are nominal prices for the petting zoo, pony and camel rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, trolley and train rides, and Pumpkin Playland. For more information on Double Stink Hog Farm, call (502) 868-9703 or go online to www.doublestink.com.

Kids can shop for the perfect pumpkin, visit the petting zoo, or take a pony or camel ride, or spend hours in Pumpkin Playland—with its straw maze, fiberglass milking cow, peddle tractors, swings and slides—while the adults shop for vegetables or munch on a fried apple pie or kettle corn.

You’ll know you’ve arrived at Double Stink when you see the orange grain bin with the happy pig face. The farm was once a hog farm.

Megan Wright of Frankfort takes a ride on a “cool bus” for a photo. Kids and adults can also take a ride on the trolley through Scarecrow Village or hop on the miniature train.

You’ll find dozens of different types of pumpkins and squash to choose from at Double Stink Hog Farm.

Enjoy a wagon ride pulled by Jack Sharp’s draft horses on the “Bale Trail” as you meander through a cornfield to see some of the crazy hay bale creations.
